Varala Sports Institute is taking new steps to accelerate its’ expertise in developing new ideas, businesses and projects in the name of Sport Innovation. By entering the Sport Innovation Platform Varala will enhance its work towards the vision to be involved in creating a future where everyone can enjoy healthy lifestyles, exercise or sports, achieve their goals and feel good, regardless of age and background, whether in the workplace or on the playfield.

“By entering EPSI network, Varala will make new connections in the European sports ecosystem. Being part of this network is a great opportunity for us to stay up to date regarding the creation of new innovations projects and business in the field of sport in Europe”, says the CEO of Varala Sports Institute, Riku Granat

“I am delighted to count amongst our EPSI members a new important Finnish stakeholder: Varala Sports Institute which is an historic player in the Finnish’s market having demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the sport field for many years. I am honored to have them on board” says Alberto Bichi, EPSI’s Executive Director.

At the moment Varala and EPSI are partners in Erasmus+ SCORES project that gathers six European countries together in the field of Dual Careers (DC) of athletes.

”Our collaboration with EPSI and Alberto has been very straightforward and easy so far. Becoming part of the EPSI network is a great chance to enhance future innovations and international operations in Varala by connecting the best joint initiatives with the right partners in coming projects” says Petteri Luukkainen, SCORES project manager in Varala.

Looking forwards to the first year of collaboration, both Varala and EPSI are excited to begin co-operation and possible new projects.

Varala Sports Institute

Founded in 1909, Varala is a pioneer at the sports institute scene in Finland. The institute was originally founded to promote women’s physical education. Nowadays the three main areas of activity are vocational education for sports instructors and coaches; high performace training center and a wide range of services related to leisure time activities & wellbeing at work.
